Author: A first-year student majoring in Control Engineering and Automation
As an Electrical Engineering student, I have always dreamed of stepping outside the lecture hall to visit a real enterprise. I wanted to feel the professional working atmosphere and witness with my own eyes the industrial electrical systems that, until now, I had only seen through textbooks and images. Fortunately, I had that exact opportunity during a field visit to Truong Giang Electric Company, located in the Da Nang Industrial Zone – one of the most unforgettable experiences of my university years.
The journey began early in the morning. Under the gentle sunlight of the coastal city, our bus, filled with excitement and curiosity, rolled toward the industrial zone. The atmosphere on the bus was lively – we chatted and guessed what we would see at a real electric company.
Upon arrival, the first thing that impressed me was the professional and orderly working style of the company. After a brief but friendly introduction from the company representative, we were divided into small groups to easily observe and interact with the engineers in charge.
I had the chance to witness control electrical cabinet systems firsthand, hearing explanations about operating principles, industrial circuit design, and the mandatory safety standards in construction. Notably, while visiting the maintenance area, I learned how engineers identify faults and provide quick solutions – a practical skill that I believe no textbook can fully convey.
One of the most memorable moments was when I tried on specialized protective gear, standing in the middle of the worksite and listening to the engineers share their real-world professional experiences – from the challenges of working conditions to the joy of completing a project safely and on schedule.
The visit provided more than just technical knowledge; it helped me gain a deeper understanding of professional responsibility, meticulousness, and seamless coordination in teamwork. I also realized that becoming a good engineer requires not only knowledge but also a continuous learning attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, high-pressure work environment.
Although the trip lasted only a day, what I gained will certainly stay with me throughout my studies and future career. Thank you, Truong Giang Electric Company, for welcoming us with such enthusiasm and professionalism. And thank you to the university and our teachers for creating the opportunity for us to "touch" reality, showing us that what we are learning is truly meaningful and practical.
